The ONE thing that TRIPLED my Etsy Sales Every Day
Recently I've been analyzing my Etsy store and the account itself and I noticed something that I never mentioned and I never realized was happening with my store. So there was one specific thing I found as I was analyzing my Etsy store and my traffic sales order volumes that was quite striking to me.
This one thing specifically tripled my Etsy orders every single day or every other day on Etsy. And I didn't realize I was doing it and I had a certain strategy I was doing every single day. But now I do and it's very apparent to me, it's very obvious what has been giving me those Etsy sales every single day.
That I'm sharing with you guys now and how you guys can triple your Etsy store sales, your Shopify store sales with this one Trick. So follow the article with us to the end.
How to boost your sales on etsy
For those of you who are just starting on Etsy, maybe you've been on Etsy for some time and you're looking to gain some tract traction and get more sales on your Etsy account.
To back to my story guys. I was looking on my Etsy account the other day and I was looking at my daily sales. Some days it would go up quite a bit, other days it would go down. And I couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting my regular order volume.
Generally I get 20 to 30 sales a day and some days I randomly had less than 10 sales and that is quite shocking for me because Etsy is one of my streams of income that allows me to work full time at home.
So me Getting less than 10 sales is not a full time income for me to live off of and it kind of scared me when I had less than 10 sales. Now the thing that I realized that was causing these sales to double to triple in sale volume per day was by me simply just running a sale.
I noticed the days that I didn't have a sale running I would get less than 10 sales and the only way I could secure more than 10 sales and get 20 to 30 sales a day was simply by just running my flash sales.
Now, there's a lot of psychology behind running a sale, and it's really as simple as you personally conducting your own research and going into a store or going shopping at a mall. If you guys notice, why do so many people purchase items on Black Friday? Because they know it's a special sales event that they can only get a certain price on a certain item during that week that Black Friday is running.
That's a same concept you want to use when you are creating your own Etsy store and running your flash sales is you want to make sure that you are running a sale every single day or every other day. Hold up, that is not the only secret in this article. And there's much more that goes into running a sale on Etsy.
The one thing that I realized and I tested a few different concepts before I got into my own strategy and how I ran my sales, this concept is not as simple as it sounds. And it's very simple if you engage two different strategies. One is you need to make sure that your discount is good enough for your competition.
What is the discount value you are offering to your customers? What is the sweet spot that will really cause your customers to purchase when they see your sale? And it's different per niche you're in. It's different per product that you're selling. And for me personally, I sell T shirts and sweatshirts on Etsy. So the sweet spot for me specifically was 15% off.
Now, I ran sales that were 10% off. I ran sales that were 20% off and 25% off. And one thing that I noticed is when I went to 10% off, I had way less sales than if I did 15% off. Plus, however, when I did 20% off or 25% off, I got just as many sales as the 15% off discounts I would do.
So as you guys can see, 15% off was my sweet spot for what I was selling. And all I really did is I increased the total total value of all of my items 15%. And then I hit that 15% off sale every single day or every other day.
Now, the second factor that's most important in this formula to tripling your sales is the duration of your sale. The one thing that I noticed that I was doing as well with that 15% off discount is I was running a sale for 24 hours to 48 hours. That creates an urgency for your customer and lets them know hey, the sale will not be around too long and if you guys want to get this discount, you have to buy basically now or you may forget.
Why do 24 hour plus sales work so well?
The reason why is because etsy starts a 24 hour countdown if you do a one day sale so it will show the minutes counting down on Etsy if you do less than one day sale, which is great, I think that really causes urgency for your customers to buy your item rather than just favorite it and walk away from the item.
Now the other thing that I want to mention is I did notice that if I did three day plus sales, these just weren't as good either because the timing of the sales were too long. Three day plus sales. I really noticed that people would start buying on the second or third day of the sale rather than the first day that the sale was put on.
So three plus day sales are just too long. And the sweet spot for the duration of time for your sales is again one to two days. If I am on a weekend, I usually set a two day sale for the weekend. However if it's a weekday sale I try to do every single day or every other day I turn on that sale. And generally I turn on these sales midday or mid morning just so customers can see it and it also will pop up in their notifications if they favorited an item.
So the nice part about Etsy is when you turn on a sale frequently this actually sends a notification to your customer that the item is on sale.
So every time you turn on that sale, your customer will either get a notification on their phone, they may get an email. And this is just great because that really drives more traffic back to your store every single day. And that's what we want because that shows the Etsy algorithm that your item is a high selling item and again it boosts your listing in the Etsy search.
That's essentially what I was doing to engage my customers, get them to make that purchase and secure and lock down those customers as opposed to not running any sale and people just seeing my price and they're like, well let me look at the competition for this specific item and buy from someone who has a lower price or may have a sale running right now.
You guys get the gist of this. If you run a sale for one to two days at a 15% off discount specifically that works for T shirts and sweatshirts, it's different again per product that you sell.
So essentially what we're doing in the strategy is we are creating flash sales and those flash sales are telling our customers that these are great discounts and great deals that they can purchase right now.
On top of that we're creating this sense of urgency for the customers to purchase and that essentially converts your customers from just visitors to actual customers. That's the point of this strategy is you want to convert your sales and you want to have a higher conversion rate.
Again that's the biggest part of Etsy, the lower conversion rate that your listing has, the lower your item will show up in the search. So to heighten in our conversion rates, we want to engage those sales. One of the most important parts of my sales and my research is I sell something that's in a evergreen niche.
Now, an evergreen niche is something that sells all year round. I sell what I call my Etsy content blueprint. In that blueprint, I list five different evergreen niches that you guys should probably be already selling. And the reason why is because these sell all year round and if you're not selling in these categories, then maybe you should consider changing up your game plan, especially as far as Etsy sales go.
I have seen a lot of comments on my blog that people feel like their Etsy stores are stagnant and they're not getting sales, they're not seeing a boost in sales. And one of the reasons being maybe the fact that you're not in the correct niche, you're not posting in time for those niches.
But my Etsy blueprint literally outlines everything for you guys, it takes out the stress of when to post your niches. There's certain evergreen niches that you guys should have up during certain times of the year or you guys should post specifically at certain times of the year to really engage those customers and get your listings again to rank up in the Etsy search and dominate that niche specifically.
That's the point, you guys really want to dominate certain niches and the only way to dominate those niches is by ranking up in the Etsy algorithm at the correct times.
So, guys, at the end of this article, I really hope your main takeaway is to really start trying flash sales. Trying to do it every day or every other day, maybe when you guys sip coffee in the morning, just turn on that flash sale and let those orders trail in.
